Good point, didn't think that far ahead. Only reason why I had planned on looking in the spring is because that's when I'll have an empty coop for Cochins. Right now I have 3 of them living with the Silkies and I promised the boss I wouldn't add another heat lamp for the winter. lol I live on and work for a big non-profit farm with 60+ horses and 100+ other smaller animals. Trying to save on the expenses during winter season.FYI.............Spring is not the time to try and buy good birds. If you want something that is good and you can see what it's going to be, you need to buy in the fall when they are started. That's when the better breeders have the most birds available.
Just thought you would want to know.

These are my new breeding pair. Picked them up yesterday at Gaetano Farm. The cockerel is about 7 months old and pullet 6 months, pictures were taken by the breeder. Right now Beaker and Tinkerbell are outside beind rained on...and they look happier than pigs in poo.
