I think you have a bit of work to do to improve type and feather feet. I'd toss in a really good roo, hatch some eggs and them keep the best pullets.

But that also depends on what you want to do with your birds. Show or just enjoy them in your coop?

hello i asked previously about my cochins and was told they were to young to tell so i have waited a bit..i am planning on getting some hatching eggs from a nice breeder to improve what i have but wanted to know what you thought of my bantam cochins. Also do you believe my "frizzle" could be a frazzle? they all hatched in september of last year.excuse me for the mud...its been raining for a few days...

I have to agree with joanie-maine. What is your goal with these? If they are just going to be eye candy and pets then enjoy. If the goal is showing then you have a lot of work ahead of you.. The self Blue leg color is not correct. I can't tell eye color on any of them. The best typed one appears to have shafting. A good quality Black male will help all of these improve.

ok could i hear faults and pro's on each? i would like to produce SOME show Q.
as for the feet i don't know that they are shown at their best right now due to now 4 days of solid rain and thus a large quantity of mud.i am asking mainly about aboe the feet right now.

ADD: also no shafting that would be the flash on the camera.

I am feeling disappointed in all of my new mottled stock. Some of them are showing really nice type, but every single bird has red leakage coming in.

This is probably a DQ, isn't it? I have a very old SOP and mottled isn't in it. I need to shop for a new one. How hard will the leakage be to breed out if I cross them with stock from another source that has no leakage?
Thanks for any advice.

Is there a barred cochin thread (preferbly bantam), I keep browsing and can't find anything. Would love to see and read more about this color.

Also is there a frizzle thread anyone has a link to? (...I'm assuming there is, but comp. is being slow and not loading all the pages quickly at the moment.
I just bought the sister to my smooth barred pullet, the new one is a frizzle..She has some filling out to do..not as round as her sister, would like to compare her to others.
