can anyone please tell me if my cochins are show quality? pleases critique! and if breed them together would i get a color, the roo is a brown-red and the hen is just black.

beautiful...love your girls fluffy pants...I think they are awesome but I know nothing about cochins...sorry...

Type appears to be there for both of them. Male lacing has some shafting and goes down his breast more than desired. I certainly have seen birds much worse shown. I don't know for sure what you will get when you breed them. My guess is some Brown red and some Birchen. I also suspect that they may be undermarked/poorly marked in the 1st generation but probably have good type.

I'm proud to say I finally have a reason to post on this thread again! I picked up an ADORABLE little black frizzled bantam Cochin hen today (for free- score!!!). She was being picked on at her old home, so she came to live with my sweet little Silkies so she could have a happier life. She's missing pretty much all of the feathers on her back and tail- the poor thing looks pretty pitiful at the moment, but I'm sure with some TLC she'll be beautiful and fully dressed again in no time.

I used to post my LFs on here quite a bit, but I sold them all this past summer I really miss them alot, but I can't say I miss the feed bill that came along with them!

Anyway, I'll try to get a few pics of her tomorrow so I can show her off and maybe keep track of her progress as she recovers from being plucked by the meanies she used to live with
