I don't know where you are from but your information is inaccurate and sort of accurate also. Bantam Cochins are not miniatures of the Large Fowl Cochin but indeed are a separate breed with different standards to be judged by. Here in America these are recognized as Bantam Cochins which this bird was. It is a recognized Breed and Variety by both the ABA (American Bantam Association) and the APA ( American Poultry Association).

maybe in europe, but here in the states, they are bantam cochin and standard cochin... pekin is not recognized in the US but it is the same thing..

My oldest and favorite Cochin died yesterday. She was 6 and will be missed. She was hatched here.

She was certainly not my first show bird but the 1st that I had bred, hatched, raised, and won with. Like any first in my life I don't forget about it and look back with good memories. 1st dog, girlfriend , car, motorcycle, job, home, day at basic training, day each of my children were born. Those things are burned into my mind making them special in ways that make them my favorite things, thoughts, and moments.
