Cochin Thread!!!

I picked up two - day old chicks today - hoping they are blues and not splashes. Could someone enlighten me? They are the cutest little puffballs!!!

She was laying every other day for up to 3 weeks, then I added him then nothing, they are mating just no eggs. My calico is laying every other day now too, so I'm going to bring in a rooster for her and see what happens.

I'm big on photography, so I pulled one of the buff Bantam girls to take some pictures. They are just the sweetest things, they climb on my shoulder and just sit there, lol. This girl is from Urch lines and is almost 9 weeks.

Peanut Butter- last fall he had the nicest comb I've seen but between rooster fights and frostbite, it isn't that nice any more.

Here's a link that shows the "bullseye" of a fertile egg:

You can also tell if a hen is laying by checking the width of the spread of her pubic bones (you can feel them very easily at her vent area). But of course, if they are all laying, this won't tell you which one layed which egg.
