Could the older one have some hock feathers going on? THe younger one seems to have cleaner leg. Does either have any obvious DQs on wings, toes, eye color? I don't know the body type requirement of LF Cochins but you could see some very good pics on Cochins Intl for comparison.

I have some bantam Cochins that I'm growing out in my barn. They were an assortment of eggs that I had gotten from a couple of different people on the east coast. I think I have a pair of lavenders, a pair of buffs (that are just cute as heck!), some silver penciled (I don't remember if they're a pair or not), there's a partridge hen (I need to scout around for a roo), and I can't remember what else there is.

I still have to photograph my Mille Fleur pair and post it. We just moved them into the barn and they're really skittish since the move, the poor babies.

I Am SO Excited!

I am getting some Bantam Cochin hatching eggs from a BYC'er!! She has: White, Black, Blue, Red, Blue Mollted, Millie Fleur, Black Mollted, Golden Laced and Self Blues!!! I hope I get at least 1 from each color!!! Wish me luck!!!!

Good luck! You really can't go wrong with Cochins! Oh I forgot! I have Red Cochins too!! Are you getting your Cochins from RR in the swap??

I used to have a whole bunch of cochins way back when, but they all got killed.

They're the best broodies!!!I'm getting them from "copperpatina" I don't know what she wants in return though .. she doesn't check her email very offten.

Well here is the lavender cochin project progress for the year. There is still a lot of work to do on them but this is whole lot better than what we started with.
