Cochin Thread!!!

These are my Cackle birds......

The roo and hen pics are of the same pair. The black babies are a month older now, and getting really nice. The blue pair aren't looking their best right now.

I dont know what color this guy is so I'm hoping yall could help me

and my lil blue lady, my other cochin pullet was off in the garden so she wasnt photographed

How quickly with Cochins can you tell physically what sex they are? I'm having horrible luck with excessive roos and I am not a person to kill and eat them myself. Hoping my second batch is more successful.

I can usually tell by about 4 or 5 weeks. The boys get larger combs and wattles early.

My girls feather out first, (not always the case tho)and my males will grow a larger comb and wattles.

I went out and got updated pics of the cochins today just about 3 months old. And my big guy. He is my big cuddly boy.








This is a weird perspective. She is actually a lot smaller than him, she was just closer to me lol.

If I see one of my chicks wattles turning more pink quicker than the others should I assume he is a male?
