Cochin Thread!!!

He is really cute lol reminds me of golem from LOTR with all his skinny-ness

Haha my DH said the same thing! I hear self blues feather slower than normal patterns....dont really know if thats true or not...also compared to all my other cochin cockerels this year, he looks really tall, everyone else looks like cute little balls. Ill just give him more time. Thanks guys! Hes about 3 months old.

Here is my lil guy. He is going on 15 weeks. He was being a little too aggressive with the pullets so we had to put him in chicken jail a couple of days in a row after he pinned a couple of the girls down while they were free ranging. Now he is quite the gentleman when it's time to come out!! ;-)

Mystonegarden, he is cute even in an awkward stage. story of the ugly duckling comes to mind. My EE cockerel was not the nicest looking chick but now oh my the colors he has!Think your feller will surprise you greatly as he ages as someone said.

Why did he stop? Did you grab him up in the act or what? Thanks.

yes. We are integrating 2 different aged flocks. There is a 6 week difference between them. he was down right just MEAN to them!! They were squawking like crazy and you could hear from their screams it was torture. Luckily there was no blood that time but close! We got them apart and put him in the coop where he could watch all of the others run around freely chasing any and all bugs they could find and chatter in delight. We let him out the next day and it was a repeat of the day before. Back to"jail" he went!! The third day and since he has been very well behaved. He is a reformed inmate! This was all just last week!
