Cochin Thread!!!

Thanks! :)
No, he is from a pure blue bloodline
At first, Even I thought that he has some colours mixed into him at first but as times been passing his colours are becoming more and more solid.

I think he'd make a great breeder

I just bought two hens and three chicks about a week old. The lady said they were Delaware's, Longhorns, and Cochran's(a place in ga). Bless her, so now I'm confused with what I have because I know nothing about what breeds she meant: Delaware's, LEGHORNS, and COCHINS. I had one hen lay an egg already. It was small and bone colored. Is that what a Cochin lays?

Hello all. I just found this thread and joined as soon as I could. I'v seen most of the posts and everyone's birds are gorgeous! After a two year break or so from buff Cochins I realised not having Cochins is too difficult! A few days back I went and bought a pair of blue Cochins. They are 8-9 weeks old. Here are a few shots I took of the cockerel. Please share your views and feel free to say what you really feel please. Criticism would be appreciated so I know where my Cochins stand in quality.
Also I have one question for everyone
What type of Cochins would you get if you put a black Cochin male on a blue Cochin hen or vice versa?
Thanks in advance
Here's a picture of the blue Cochin roo
( 8 weeks old)
400

Black x blue = 1/2 black, 1/2 blue
Black x black = all black
Blue x blue = 1/2 blue, 1/4 black, 1/4 splash

No delawares and cochins both lay brown eggs, they can be lighter brown or medium. Leghorns lay white or an off white.

My Black Bantam Cochins lay a very light tan egg. Certainly not brown. Most of my eggs cochin eggs are quite light colored. Don't believe the books about the color of egg a Bantam Cochin will lay. It will not be white but certainly not what I think of as a brown egg
