He Finally died at 8 years found him outside laying in the mud.

I think he lived a good life hopefully he has all the hens in the world with him now. Maybe he is finally with his sweetheart that died last spring at 7 years. Big Daddy.

Thank you soo much. He was some sort of Cochin mix. not of breeds but of colors. His hen was a barred rock that had been piratically frozen on the other side of the road many years back. Her name was Old Maid. They loved each other, when she let the young rooster breed with her he wouldn't let her sleep with him but the next day he was fine. When she got eaten by a raccoon he was heart broke for a week just out of it you know. I think that he is with her running in a prairie with many other of the hens he has lost over the years. Its nice to think about that. Unfortunately we didn't bury him he got burned on a fire.

A few of my latest hatchlings. Armand is the daddy, blue frizzle bantam cochin. Not sure about the moms yet. White silkie or cuckoo bantam cochin hens.
