Awwww she's adorable! I love the Partridges. I have a pair of them and I want to get some more of them. They're so tiny compared to my others though. They're still young, only 4 months old so there's hope for them yet!

My neighbor (he's like family) owns a sign company - that is TOTALLY the next project I'm having him do for me! Except mine's going to say, "Cochins are like potato chips...you can't have just one...or ten...yes, they should definitely come in multiples of 10."

TennesseeTruly - I haven't forgotten about you - our weather has gone from beautful upper 60's here to complete slushy crap (gotta love Wisconsin), and the number of eggs I'm getting every morning has significantly decreased.

I LOVE my partridge trio. They are 5 mo. old now. I was going to sell them to just work on Mille Fleur and Lavender projects but they have become so beautiful that I had to get another pen and keep them. The roster is my tamest and the girls are crazy - will roost on the peak of the roof of the coop for night. I have to move them every night! I call them Thelma and Louise.

Love the partridge coloring too! All the other roosters around here are plan red RIRs or plan white GC but our big, red, black and metallic green, fluffy partridge cochin rooster gets so much attention and many compliments. The hens with their mottled brown coloring are great for free-ranging because they camoflage so well.

Another interesting thing about the partridge is the dramatic change that the roosters make as they grow.

yes, they are neat looking as they mature, we have 2 boys that are about 9 months now,
here is one from the summer:

What quality would you say she is? Not that it really matters just wondered. She might still be to young to tell?

Thanks

This is Orion. I got him from the feed store as a chick and was told they were hens. They were wrong.
