You should call your farm ying and yang farm LOL

That's not funny, we thought about it!! LOL! But our farm motto is "The difference is black and white". guess that means no BCM's, they will break all da' farm rules!

I am thinking about getting Mottled Chocin bantams. I have heard many good things about Judy Gantt and I was wondering if anyone had any contact information for her. Like an email address, phone number, State, or website. If you have any pictures of your birds that you have purchased from her please fell free to post them. Are there any other Mottled breeders out there that have nice birds.

Do your Cochins ever develope a limp? I have a couple, both happen to be roos, that are favoring one leg. I don't find any swelling or wounds. Could they have developed a sprang while walking in the beding in their pens? They both have heavily feathered feet and I have straw and oak leaves over cement in their pens.

That Happened with mine once. He was on the roost alot because all his hens were broody. I looked at his legs and I noticed from roosting for a month his toe-nails grew too long. When i cut them his limp left ...so i would take a look at there nails.

Yes. I had one LF cockerel who slipped the tendon in his hock. There was no roosting involved, and they were on good footing. He was culled.

Judy is a Director of Cochins International - you can find all her contact info here:

Edited to add: I've seen some excellent Mottleds from breeders here on BYC, also. And if Judy doesn't have what you're looking for, you might try Jamie Matts - you can also find his info and links to his website on Cochins International.
