Not a silly question at all. I've heard it all 3 different ways, and there's probably a 4th way I'm missing. I used to pronounce it Co-shin, but in the past couple of years, I switched to Co-chin. And I'm still not sure I have it right!

If you click on the little loud speaker next to the word, you can hear it here:

Wish you luck with your new baby. I have a small Cotchin hatched out of a blue egg myself. To me, I don't see much Ameraucana in her, but I'm hoping she will give me some blue eggs.

HAHA I pronounced it Co-kin lol Shows how many different ways it can be pronounced, depending on who you talk to. The guy I got it from pronounced it Caw-kin. Thanks for the link to the speaker!!

Thanks!! I have another one, that is part Black Copper Maran, and I think he is part Cochin. He's going to be our keeper roo, so I can't wait to see what his offspring look like.

LOL! Sounds like you have one that is 1/2 Ameraucana-1/2 Cochin, and one that is 1/2 Maran-1/2 Cochin. I think it's time to double your fun and get one that's 100% Cochin!

You think Cochin is bad............try having d'Uccle. I don't think there is a single breeder that can agree with another on how to pronounce that one.
