Go to the Cochin international site and check out the bird in 2007 western meet photos for standards. For bantams I would check out Tom Roebucks website where he has some pics of bantam Partridge Cochins or the 2007 eastern meet photo's. Those represent some of the best Partridge that are shown.

Blue Does Dilute Red and Splash even more...Dominant white Dilutes Red also...

ok now i'm confused because i have blue and red and also splash and red in my kaleidoscopes. if that were true wouldnt the red be diluted and not dark red against the blue and splash?

have you thought about red enhancers? like autosomal red, Mahogany, DK1, DK2? they could be there just to neutralize Splash fading effect..

Show quality Red Pyle OEG are Heterozygous for Dominant white and carry Mahogany to counter Dominant white diluting effect..

Show Quality Buff laced wyandottes are het for dominant white as homozygous Dominant white(I/I) will Dilute Pheomelanin(Red) too much...

I just plugged the red-duckwing and dominant white in to the calculator and came up with unicolor white off spring. ?????? So even that doesn't work right now. I'm completely confused now.

Henks chicken calculator works but it wont take into acount Dominant White fading effect on Red Pyle color...

Lilcrow did you just use red duckwing male(or female) over a completely dominant white bird? that could be the reason why you are geting unicolor white offsprings... because self white birds are E/E or Extended black birds and that is domiant over e+ (duckwing) your offprings should be all white.... and I say should because Dominant white can be leaky(bleeds color thru)...

the below rooster was a F1 from a brown red rooster x to all white leghor

Yes, I used a red duckwing male over a dominant white female. The duckwing was originally gold, but changed it from mh/mh to Mh/Mh. I also tried changing the hen from mh/mh to Mh/Mh, but that didn't change a thing.

LilyD, I just want to say, that those are just as cute as any cochin baby that I've seen. They are going to be pretty. That should be fun seeing what you get with your others in the bator. Will have to post pictures of them when they hatch..I love baby pictures.
Good luck!

Cynthia, that was so nice of you to comment on Lily's chicks. I think sometimes we get caught up in our own stuff and miss some of the new folks. My apologies to you Lily, yes they are adorable babies. I don't think there is anything any cuter than baby chickens. I'll look forward to seeing your new little ones.

Thank you both of you. They are super cute and very easy to handle. They get their personality from the cochin side I'm thinking because they are both very mellow. I just hope they are girls lol.

This is Betty, my 11 week old Pekin.

I also have a Lavender frizzle rooster but I think I'll wait to post a pic of him, he's 8 weeks old and a total scruff bag
