Cochin Thread!!!

It looks like my little mottled might be a he not a she, there was crowing in the cage this morning ( I was half asleep so I didn't look up to see who it was) and the other two I'm almost positve are females.

Nobody has any idea? He is slowly getting more feathers, but the white (birchen?) is only from the neck up and the golden splashes are on the rest of the body. I feel like he is two chickens in one

Beautiful bird. My guess is pullet but I have very little experience with LF, only 3 of my own. My 4 mo. roo isn't crowing yet and he sure is a roo. He is twice as big as my pullet and has a comb and wattle much bigger than hers. It is my understanding that LF Cochins mature very slowly.
Please keep us posted with more pics. I would love to see Sterling grow!

This is a hen I kept back in case something bad happened to my other breeder hens. I did not breed her this year. Her back wasn't clean enough and lacing not crisp enough but her type is pretty good. I used her to hatch some Black eggs out and she is a pretty good mother.

My mom just purchased a few bantam cochin hens and a rooster. There was also a Blue Cochin, Standard size hen with them. After a few days of settling down, I moved her into my mix breed coop so the bantams did not have to contend with the giant hen.

My question:

How well do Cochins intergrate in with other hens, especially an established flock. There is a rooster there, but he is not the best flock leader.
