Cochin Thread!!!

Here is one of my buff cochin hens

This is my barred cockerel that I am planning to breed to the buff ladies and start working on getting a lemon barred cochin we'll see what happens

I also have a black cochin pullet but she was camera shy and wouldn't take a good pic. Ooo well

here's some pictures of the blue cochin that just hatched! We picked up a black cockerel from Bo Garrett at Indi and thought to get a head start on breeding for next year, so I put him over one of our blue hens from last year....the chick came out surprisingly light in color. It thought my hand was its mother, and it buried itself so that only its bottom was sticking out

There will be new strains of all types of things coming to your flock all the time. Just like the flu in humans. Just when you think you have it whipped by getting vaccinated, you pick up a different strain.
