Sorry you feel that way. I have had similar feelings from time to time. If some experienced show people and breeders don't participate who will help the new enthusiasts.

I feel that way myself sometimes. But I think what we all need to realize that yes there are some chicken snobs and there are others who don't know alot but think they do. Just keep in mind that's a small portion. Most of us just enjoy our chickens and don't care about all the nonsense. Everybodies goals and opinions will never be the same so don't let it get you down. Always consider the source of any unneccesary comments.

OMG all these beautiful birds! I really want some mottled, whites, blacks, and blues....really I just love them all! I really want to get some in February or March...what is a good way to get good birds?

Gosh, remember when I had some partridge birds and a member critiqued them??? Yippes!

i suppose that some people's honesty in what they see can be brutal, especially since it is difficult to display true emotions through typing. i certainly don't like it when someone 'destructively' critiques my artwork since it is my own work and it was how i felt it looked right or nice to me at the time i did it.

even i don't frequent BYC as much as i used to. i feel that too much can and will be misconstrued on here and people have been too sensitive or too brutal in their thinking before they re-read and understand where the poster is coming from. before anyone jumps to conclusions, ask as many questions as you can to get a clear picture. (this is why i have a hard time reading or viewing a lot of news that doesn't give both sides of the picture!)
