My thoughts exactly. Only the red color is more the color of a Blue Laced Red.

I came on here tonight wanting to see if someone can tell me about trimming a cochins butt. Either my male is shooting blanks or they need trimming! I have never done this and really dont know how to do it.
I have looked for youtube videos but only found AI videos which I may try.
What are your thoughts.....
Thanks
Tony
well i trimmed my white roo and white frizzle girl when they got their baths. below the vent for the roo above the vent for the hen. i just used scissors and snipped off the fluff to make easier access. no idea if it's worked yet, she's only laid 4 eggs so far. i'm waiting for a couple more to incubate them. i know if you pluck they grow back faster. i'm not worried about that really, but he had a lot of mud/turd balls on his fluff when i got them, so the trimming was twofold purpose.I came on here tonight wanting to see if someone can tell me about trimming a cochins butt. I trimmed mine for the first time 3 weeks ago. I don't know if I did it right, but I trimmed all feathers around the vent on both but went above the vent more of the girls and below the vent mor eon the boys (about 3"). I must have done something right... My MFCs' eggs are fertile now, when they weren't before.
If you are getting fertile eggs then you did trim them correctly.
Seeing as both his girls were and one is broody, my testing has some to a halt.
