Cochin Thread!!!

Spending the afternoon cleaning pens and taking pictures~
What color is this one? I have a little mystery pullet that is feathering out exactly like this color. She was from hatching eggs and obviously there was a mix up in the eggs because the egg was supposed to be mottled and at first it was light with a grayish hue but then it started getting this color as feathers grew in. I'll try to get pictures of her today and post them.

This pullet came out of some Birchens I bought that seem to maybe have somed barred? in their background. Either that or somebody was able to sneek in and breed a Birchen hen when I wasnt looking. She's a really pretty pullet though~

1 My pair of Silver Penciled Cochins She is laying fertile eggs for me. First will hatch next week.

2 This is some of the Buff Columbians in their pen. Yes there is shafting and am working on it. No white feathers. Lots of fertile eggs.

3 Part of one of my pens of young Columbians and Buff Columbians. Think LOTS of feed!

I am THRILLED to see so many folks working with the lesser-seen Varieties!! Silver Penciled, Buff Columbians, Brown Reds, Lemon Blues, Silver Laced, Golden Laced, Partridge, Birchen, Barred - the Cochin aisles at the upcoming shows will be rainbows of color!! This can only be good for our Breed.
And it's great to see everyone remembering above all to focus on type, then color & pattern. Keep working together - please don't be afraid to ask questions, and please don't hold back when you can pay forward your experience and knowledge.

New to this forum, I have started a flock of F Cochins and I lost my Lemon Blue Rooster Thursday night and now I am looking for a replacement for him. I am in the Central; Oklahoma area and was wondering if there might be some breeders on here.

I also have a pair of Silver Laced LF and 2 BBS LF hens.
