Pics!

F1 Chocolate Cochin pullet (single choc gene). I hatched 2 so far.

F1 Choc Cochin Cockerels (single choc carriers). I have 4 cockerels - 2 from each pen.

And the whole batch, I marked the choc pullets. The rest are the choc carrying boys, project MFCs and a few wheaten Ameraucanas.

A Bantam Black Cochin hen bred, raised and shown by Tom Roebuck won Grand Champion of the Show at the 2013 APA National Show/ NE Poultry Congress last weekend. Congratulations Tom. I know a few of us know Tom and are proud of his accomplishment.

I just checked everyone. Luna was in the nesting box. Along with two other birds. I shooed everyone but Luna. She was sitting in her usual spot in the nest. The golf balls where in the other nesting box. I gave them to her.

I am going to post a video to you tube and you all can tell me if she is broody or not!

Thats good to hear. I have not had the opportunity to meet him personally but am in awe of what i have seen him accomplish for this breed. Thanks for letting us know :)

Okay, so some of the chicks have feathering on every toe. Then some have feathers on the middle and outer toe like it calls for. Should I cull (sell) those or could I keep them and use them for breeding.

Do not cull for extra feathers on the feet. Check and see if the are missing toe nails and try not to breed two birds that are missing toe nails.
