Here is one of my side project birds. the start of my mille fleur line. She is a bit too white, and the type is all over the place, but i have to start somewhere.
I must disagree with that. All roosters crow - or should. They're maybe not as loud as large fowl breed, but they have their "spells" during the day. You can expect them to crow in the morning and evening, mine set up a raucous at noon and about anytime I go out to work with them. I don't think they're as bothersome as a barking dog.
Flock, blue and lavender are genetically different colors. When breeding blue you will also get black and splash, when breeding self-blue (lavender) they breed true and you will only get self-blue. As far as the chick's down color, I see there is one that will be blue for certain, I'm not sure about the other. It appears that it could be splash. You want to keep an eye on the foot feathering, blue chick looks OK the lighter chick could be disqualified due to lack of feathering on the middle toe. That is a requirement for Cochins.Forgive me if this is a stupid question but I am still new to the Cochins.
Are lavendars and blues the same thing or is lavendar considered different b/c it is a lighter shade?
And also do blue cochin chicks have little gray/blue down on there legs/ feet and splash chicks have yellow?
My little blue chicks is tricky. She is a lighter shade of blue then the other pics of blue chicks but has a less yellow then pics of splash chicks blur more yellow then pics of blue chicks?
I really really want her to be a splash!!!!!

Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do.
