Cochin Thread!!!

Hello! I'm glad I found this thread as I am a first time owner of a cochin and 2 cochin mixes. They are 8 weeks old now and I'd like to know their gender with your help, if possible.

The black one (Midnight) is
a cochin. Is it a too? I think it was about 6 weeks when I took this picture.

Thanks for your help

Is there anyone who lives in the stoney creek Ontario area that would give a partridge roo and a black pullet a spoiled new home

thats ok and thanks for your time and opinion, I have thought that the 2 roos? were that for a couple of weeks now but was in denial as the 1st chick is my absolute favourite and I was hoping to keep one of them but their dad is so loud, will try my best to not him crow too early in the morning (ever hopeful) as that will be the only reason my neighbours would complain (think I am still in denial)

too bad you can't keep the cockerels, i like them better than the pullets most of the time, i like the size of the cocks once they get big and take care of their "women" i have around 9 or 10 right now, only one young cockerel, and right now hes nasty to the girls but he'll grow up
and where we live (husband born on the place 67 years ago) only one neighbor is close enough to complain, and they knew i had chickens when they bought their place so

am going to try no crow collars hopefully and then see what happens

My cockerel is hilarious because he crows occasionally (very rarely). He has only crowed twice in the morning ever. He does this because he is hen pecked, he is lower in the pecking order than a couple hens. Lucky for me because I love him, he is super sweet. I ordered a no crow collar just incase we ever need it :)

Hi, I want to get into breeding Cochins. What colors should I start with?. I don't have any yet, but I want to soon.
are you looking to show as well? the best varieties out there would be black, white and mottled. but I prefer the more challenging varieties that need work, like the silver laced and red...
