Picture of a few of my breeders while they have all their feathers. Probably won't look this good again until fall. About time to pluck so we can get a few fertile eggs. First test eggs did not develop.

My Cochin babies..they are 2 months old...I have Lemon Blue, Blue, & Splash...& one that is a weirdo..I guess he's a pyle?? lol
Is the Pyle looking one a Lemon Blue Splash? I've had a couple of those but never kept them around very long. Yours are very nice looking though!

Hi, I just subscribed to the thread. I've come to learn! I'll start reading the whole thread here soon, but it'll take me while to get caught up.
I have 2 LF black Cochins. They were supposed to be pullets, but ended up cockerels. I have gotten weirdly attached to them, I keep talking myself out of selling them, which I've almost done like 20 times
. Normally I can part ways with cockerels no problem by butchering them, but I can't even think about butchering these guys. They just keep being entertaining and zero amounts of trouble. SO. I've admitted defeat, I'm going to keep them, I'd like to get them some girls.
I was wondering if anyone on here ships chicks or hatching eggs? I'd like to get some BBS girls for them. Unless someone lives within driving distance (under 2-3 hours) from me in SD, with some nice pullets?
I know these are REALLY bad pictures of them, they were only 4ish months and not fully feathered yet (crazy how slow they grew) in them, they look much better now a days @ 8-9 months. By better I mean they have all their feathers, are taller/wider and more green shiny feathers. One of them just tried to crow for the first time yesterday. I was wondering if they are even worth using as breeder roosters? I was told they should be showable by the lady who sold them to me, but I have no idea with cochins. I mainly wanted a couple hens because I think they are so pretty, I'll try to get recent pictures of them tomorrow.
Please excuse the poor hatchery hens who are molting in the background. poor things.
This is the larger of the two boys @ 4.5 months he has more green in his tail feathers than the other one. He's taller and leggier.
This picture probably isn't even worth posting, but this is the marginally smaller boy. He's shorter and more compact.
Both of their combs are pretty much the same color, his just looks lighter in this picture.
I'd appreciate critical reviews of my birds, the more critical you are the more I learn!

They grew together...We had 3 hens and 3 roosters... but that little dog there left us with only 1 hen, No they don't have contact... I'm trying to get more cochins but no one here has them, tried incubating eggs but dint work

lol..yes, the dorky looking one is on I'd call a "pyle"...I was thinkin of selling him but he is so darn friendly...lol Thank you...this is my 1st go with Cochins except for hatchery stock I had way back when..

Could anyone please give me some feedback about our Partridge Cochin, Blackie?
We posted some photos when he was 6 months old, and everyone recommended checking back when he was older. Now, he's 1.5 years old, the biggest roo in our barnyard, and I believe he may still be growing, lol. Just would like to know if he would be worthy of breeding, or, if we should just pass on him. Also, what color are PC eggs? (We got him as a chick so have no idea.)
He's probably more reddish-copper than red color persay. And the flame stripes are green. Really no halo to speak of- if that is anything. His eyes are coppery bay, not yellow.
He's regrowing in one sickle feather, and some saddle feathers as one of his flockmates thought they were yummy.
I'm not sure of the body conformation of this breed, but, I caught him running and stopping for a second here. (This bird runs everywhere. lol) His shanks are yellow, and there are some feathers on the middle toes. The shanks are very well feathered.
