Cochin Thread!!!

I really want to start breeding cochins soon. I need to get a roo.

What colors r u looking for?? And where r u? If all goes well I should have some pure SQ B/B/S Cochins to out of VERY broody stock. The roo was hatched from a broody and the hens have/are raising broods. I dont have any yet but the bator is full of BA x Cochin. In the next month I will have pure breds but am working on the hens laying schedule.

Thought I'd share what I'm working on. Right now I'm into producing barred cochin Bantam's. I have chicks come out frizzled and smooth. I have a barred roo over two white frizzle hens and one smooth white hen. I sell eggs from them if anyone wants some. I have a batch of 15 eggs at day 12 in the bator and the only chick out of last hatch that I kept is a barred frizzled roo. I hope to put him with a few smooth barred hens and produce more frizzleds.

Oh I almost forgot I took some new pics of them the other day.

This is the little one with the bum leg. Getting better but still hobbling some.

This is the darkest one:

And this is the one I think will be frizzled.

It looks like a blue a barred and I think lavender frizzle.

These are my 12 week old Cochins. I thought they were pullets but now I'm thinking the blue one is a roo because his wattles are so much more deifined than the mottled. What does everyone think?
