I use the "rattle treats in a plastic tub" method to get my hens to come back into their run. EVERYONE comes running EXCEPT the Cochins. They just amble along doing their thing out in the yard. They are such free spirits. They crack me up.

Hen or Roo? I was thinking female but the other two roosters in the flock has started chasing this one around . Its now staying in the coop away from the others. Its double the size of my stsndard black cochin. He or she is about 5 1/2 months old.

What color and sex do you think this Cochin is? I'm hoping it's a girl. Do your Cochins have extremely slow feather growth? This one is 2 weeks old and she looks so funny compared to my other breeds the same age because they all have long feathers on their wings and some are starting to grow tail feathers. I love it though, she is still so soft and fluffy.

Slow feathering usually means rooster in Cochin. Sorry can't help with the color until it gets some feathers. Sometimes Cochin roosters can still be almost bald at 4-6 weeks.

Mine are the first to come running, I can step on them if I'm not careful

I was thinking my girls feathered slower, but they jumble together in my brain too, so I wouldn't guess on sex, but on color maybe black mottled? Any idea what color the parents were?

All mine feathered slow but not that slow!

I was thinking maybe blue mottled or blue laced. It looks kinda grayish to me rather than black and those feathers look like they have a lot of white on the tips. But that's just a guess.
