Cochin Thread!!!

I've had some at 5 months and one at 8 who still hasn't layed yet
This is my first time w/ Cochins. I just love photos of others so when I went to the feed store last April to pick up a few more Buff Orpingtons and heard they had Cochins, well I just had to have a few. And they are DARLING creatures. I almost don't even care if they lay.

I got a Black and a Partridge. I wish I could keep their feet a little cleaner. Their run is fully roofed so they do stay dry. But if it's not raining, I let them out into the garden for about an hour each day and their feathers have become pretty muddy and trashed. Oh well.

Yeah it happens there is no way to keep them clean... Unless you make socks

I love Partridge anything let alone Cochins, but sadly I have non. All I have is a silver laced standard and 2 bantam Cochins, dark blue and mottled. But I love them with all my heart.

Partridge really are amazing. I love her feathers.

I saw someone had made these little neoprene booties for a hen who had bumble foot. I thought that was a neat idea. If wouldn't be so much work I'd put those on her when she was out in the mud. Course, it only seems to be bothering me. She doesn't seem to care. So I'll just leave her be.
