If you are interested in Blue or Black, I have several cockerels (8 months) available. I ship in the event you don't find something close to you. I have pics if you would like to see them.

Howdy!
I know I posted this question somewhere (or thought I did, but I could be having thought kinks) but I'm gonna ask again.

Do standard cochins come in the Columbian or is that just the bantams? I haven't seen any pics of standard columbian cochins yet anywhere so I was just wondering.
Thanks!

Columbian is currently a recognized Bantam Variety. Not Large Fowl. I've seen some in the past, and they do exist in small numbers, but you'll be hard pressed to find any.

Hi Matt! Let me know if I can hook you up with some Bantams!

LOL, thanks Gail. But, unless they can lay larger eggs than the mille's (and on a more consitent basis) I think we'll just wait until the columbians are LF

You know I've been thinking about it before but figured I would voice my thought outloud with the subject of colombians in bantam and LF... I was wondering since I know bantams and LF can breed, and its a common practice with cochins to AI why more people don't try enlarging the color bases of the LF by AI'ing batam rooster sperm into LF hens? Wouldn't that work?

I would love to see Milles in LF as well as more colombians in LF and many more.

He is a dandy!

I just got a young Mille Fleur Roo that looks scruffy and has mites. He even smells a little. I am trying poultry dust. He has been in quarantine for almost a week. Do you think I should keep him separated longer? He sure acts lonely.

I would it took me about 3 weeks of isolation to rid him of mites and lice. You said you dusted but you have to dust again in 10 days. My boy had egg sacks as large as my thumb under his wings about 6 each wing. They will and do come back I treated him 3 times total 2 before he was let out. Also if he smells please bath first there is a reason he smells I had to bath colonol twice with dawn dish soap helps with lice. Good luck with him he will be beautiful it just takes time:)
