I have 3 mottled from a friend who lives down the road, I just bought 2 pullets from Jamie Matts, one blue mottled and one black, not many spots yet (they are very young) but very beautiful birds. Everybody is still very young and who was laying has stopped with the weather getting colder. I will hopefully have eggs to sell come springtime!
Here's my little blue mottled pullet

I just used this smilie again on the Mille Fleur Cochin site. I feel like I overuse it but I love to see everybody's pictures! I am having so much fun with my new (since May) "hobby" - Cochins! In a weak moment I bought a little buff pullet for 1.25 at an auctiuon. She was thin and neglected and I don't have room for her but I fell for her. Now my husband has fallen in love with her too and says she is "his" chicken. Boy is she lucky, he is even a bigger softy than me. I owe her for roping him in to my chicken obsession.

Awww, I need to find my husband "his" chicken! Right now he tolerates (mostly) and participates, but he doesn't seem to enjoy them as much as I do.
Prob doesn't help hat my little stinker MF Cochhin roo attacked his legs as he was leaving the run a couple mornings ago

Succumbed to temptation and purchased a lavender bantam cochin pullet the other day. Shock and surprise, I know.

Now what to do with her. LOL I don't really know how lavender works with other colors. I have two mille roos and a red frizzle roo. None seem to be the right answer for her. Do I just need to break down and purchase her a lavender roo? Or am open to suggestions as to the most versatile options I have with her genetically speaking.
Thanks!
