Cochin Thread!!!

I was wondering this myself. My rooster has more feathers on his legs from 4 months to 6 months but they are only on the outside. Do "show quality" Cochins have feathers on the outside and the inside of their legs?

Thanks for the answers!

As soon as feathers started growing in on my birds, they were present. This is Levi then and now @ 5 months old.

Feathering should be on the front and outside of the shanks, continuing down into the toes with no breaks in the sections. Middle and outer toes should be completely feathered to ends. Here's some bantams at one day old, 31 days, and 35 days old:

OMG Gail, your babies look exceptional. Gorgeous little Gold Laced. I'm going to upload some pics to the new thread this afternoon, they are of the fluke Columbian chick that I got out of my partridges..........UNLESS I miss marked the egg and it is out of my Birchens. That would make more sense to me, but it still puzzles me how I got a Silver Columbian out of either variety - Partridge or Birchen.

Those babies are soooooooooooo cute! The feathering on the legs/feet are amazing on those babies. Even the overall feathering is so much thicker that my boy as he was growing. They are amazingly beautiful! What color will the white chested one turn into?

Thank you so much for sharing pictures of your beautiful babies!
