I like your rooster! I have some lemon blue project birds, too, and several of my young cockerels look similar to your guy. Mine are only 7 weeks old, but I have 5 cockerels that I'm going to have to pick from eventually. I don't know how I'll do it; they're all so different and pretty in their own ways. Honestly, I'm not sure I can actually use my birds to develop lemon blue, but I do like all the color variation I got in the batch of chicks I ordered.

Just got my new Calicos today along with a young Buff Columbian roo~

I was so dissappointed a few years back. I paid big money to have BBS chicks shipped form what I thought was a great breeder, only to find they had red leakage. Now I want it- lol! Dixieland has a roo very similar to mine too, and hoping she will get on here and post a pic of her new girl too.

Twyla!! I tried to call you today to tell you they weren't supposed to come until tomorrow but, looks like they made it early. Sorry, I could only get 6 eggs to go with them... Of course! there was 2 more eggs in there when I got home from running errands today. So.. what do you think? happy?

Wow, cool looking. Who was his mom?
Those Cochins are good flock masters. I raise chicks up in the pen with my one LF pair and Bo is excellent with them. He tolerates the roos until they mess with the girls and he is great to watch over them from predators. I really love the Cochins.
Now I did have to get after 2 bantam Cochin hens yesterday. Cowboy's girls jumped the fence in with the Sizzles and killed 2 of their new chicks. Very unusual for my Cochins to kill any chicks but I guess those were just too weird for living.

And yes, molting is going nuts here! Every morning when I go to let out the chickens I realize how many feathers are all over the barnyard! Who had a pillow fight during the night? Geez!

I missed this one...my blue cochin rooster's mom was the lighter one in back here.
