Cochin Thread!!!

Does anybody have photos of a show quality standard cochin rooster. It can be any color. I just wanted to see what they look like. The fairs around my area really aren't big on chickens. They're more into cows. Most the birds you see aren't ven fully feathered. They are molting or have mud all over them.

Go to the Cochin International Website. Look at either show results or variety photos. Those are good representations of the breed and varieties.

The male could be either Partridge or Silver Laced.
ETA there are males of both color and hens of both as well.

I am just guessing but you would not get anything that is close to a recognized variety. My thought is that the if the SL male used on P hen you would get a silver based pullet chicks and the males will be all over the place. Do it if you want but I ask why. You already have 2 of the finest color/varieties in Large Fowls.

I agree with Craig, both of those color varieties are beautiful and it sounds like you have males and females of both, so it's not like you're lacking a bird to breed to. I would keep them separate and pure.
