I wonder what happens to my subscription when I don't log in for a day or two, does it think I've lost interest. This dang thing hasn't sent me a notice since I got back from Sedalia, I just assumed everyone was still posting so I logged on. I'm 100+ posts behind.
I've been doing a lot of catch up since I got back anyway..............What fun I had and I LOVE my Black pair from Mr. Rhoades. Thanks for giving me the tip on them Craig.

I am glad you like those birds. I liked them well enough to consider bidding but not against you. Those Rhoades birds in the show were wonderful birds. There were lots of good birds in that show. I know it was a long drive but I enoyed that show and town. I will show there again even if not a CI show. I hatched out Black, Buff Columbian, and Columbians last week. Looking to do more of the same this month.

i don't think you're a thread killer, but it's nearing the end of the work week for many, who may be planning weekend activities/swaps/shows etc and just too busy to hop online. i can surf while working, so i'm on more during the day.

but work is done now, i'm off to go get feed and take a couple leaky waterers back to southern states... don't trust those plastic seams indoors. LOL i had a slight flood yesterday in one of the brooders.

I have a couple of dumb newbie questions...

Can a black hen and a black roo throw non-black babies? Or can black babies not be the traditional black/yellow coloring??

I have a black hen and black roo with 2 blue hens. I just had 5 or 6 babies hatch from the pen. I didn't think the blue hens were laying yet... I thought only the black hen was laying... So 5 or 6 babies hatch (I will have to count) but only one appears black? The others are mostly yellow with light grey backs.... Soooo? Can blacks throw other colors or was one of my 4.5 month old blue hens laying???

I was expecting all black Cochins. I have pics but my computer is being repaired so they are on my phone...

Can someone help me identify this chick. It was the free exotic chick I got with my order. I beleave it is a cochin but I'm not sure and it looks like it has the colors of a partridge hen.
