OK update on our Bantom Cochin chicks,
we had our buff "looking like a pullet" get her head caught in the wire where the corner of the growout pen was and we did not see it in time and lost her unfortunately.
The other 4 are doing phenominal!
Our buff still seems to be staying buff but the three blacks are getting some copper and silver showing up!
from initial pics and feather sexing and how they were feathering in it looked like Capone was our only cockerell but now I am not so sure!?!?
Well here are some quick pics from this morning and maybe you can tell me if I am seeing things or did it turn out all but one are cockerells!?!?
I am also interested in their coloring and what you think these will look like when they are adults, we only plan to keep a pair to breed and the rest for the laying pen unless they turn out to be three cockerells and one pullet
Capone, this is the one that thru wing feather sexing at 2 days old looked cockerell, is feathering in slower "still has baby fuzz' and has the bald elbows and is the smallest of the chicks. he also had a nice red comb a week ago where the rest were still yellow. "Staying no mater what! he was hatched with the bald spot and it never feathered in, most likely will be a grandkids pet"

The one on the left still looks like a pullet to us and is one we want to keep for sure, she has some nice rich copper coming in and has the sweetest personality! This one would be one for the pair to raise more. "As sweet as she is I would hate to put her in the laying pen!
The one on the right was looking to be a pullet until all of a sudden its crest started getting bigger and over the last week started to get red now we are confused!
If it is a male we will keep it to go with the copper girl as it has silver coming in with the same patterning as the copper in about the same quantity as well.

Finaly the remaining buff, we also thought pullet on this one but as with the silver started developing a comb that is reddening up as well.

Thank you for any input on these guys
