can the wing bands be put on older birds? or are leg bands the better choice? (tho i hate the look of bands on feathered legs LOL)

Yes. I have done adult birds.

I have two batam hens and one batam buff cochin rooster,my question is they have a few darker feathers in the tail is that normal or should they be all buff with no darker feathers in the tail?

I am going to Columbus next week. I will bring a few pairs of young Columbians and Silver Penciled. These are less than 3 months old and too young to assess what they will turn out like. So think of them as pet quality with potential to perhaps be better.

I've got 3 blue pullets and a cockerel that carry the mottled gene. The father was a black mottled and mother was a splash. Will I get any blak mottled or what will I get?

Blue to Blue = 50% Blue, 25% Splash, 25% Black
Splash to Blue = 50% Blue, 50% Splash
Splash to Black = 100% Blue
Splash to Splash = 100% Splash
Blue to Black = 50% Blue, 50% Black
Black to Black = 100% Black

According to the chart it should be all Blues

If the cockerel you have is also blue, yes, you could hatch black mottled.
Blue to Blue = 50% Blue, 25% Splash, 25% Black
