Cochins passing pure blood - Cocci Kills

I "know" you from @KikisGirls Balut posting ....
:hugs Sorry to hear of your problem :fl You got good advice :fl they pull through whatever they're going through. Would a Vet be able to "check" the bloody poop? They are pretty and this is scary:hugs

I wouldn't rule out they didn't bring it with them from where you got them. I'd keep them separated and sanitized your shoes, equipment and make sure the shavings from their enclosure does not transfer to your flock area. Keep us updated:caf

Please don't hate me for this bc I know it's going to sound very "know it all-ish" and I swear I'm not a know it all. I just wanted to share this info bc I honestly didn't know the difference until I took a microbiology class. So please guys don't get me for this. Just thought the curious minds might appreciate it. But cocci & coccidia/ coccidiosis aren't the same thing. Cocci refers to bacteria and coccidia is/are parasites. Again I promise not trying to nit pick I just wanted to point out the very big difference and that the two aren't used interchangeably (to my knowledge). It could also get confusing if researching how to treat one condition but you use the name for the other.
I love you! You are 100% correct, they are not the same. I was at the vet once and I said "cocci", to which she replied "cocci or coccidiosis?". She then explained that the two are not same. There is a thread here that talks about it, let me see if I can find it.

@Cyprus, my suggestion would be to do what's been suggested, increase to 2 teaspoons per gallon and give oral drench. Off the top of my head I think the oral drench amount is 0.02 ml per 100 grams. Let me know if you need help figuring out a dose.

Hey I was just about to tell her how much I loved her!

Correct dose for corid liquid is 2 tsp per gallon of water (severe outbreak dose- that's what I use).
Here's the chart. I'd start over with the higher dose, and hopefully within a couple of days you will see improvement.

X2!

Dosage is too low. Give them a couple of drops of straight liquid corid on the beak twice a day in addition to the stronger corid water
