cockerel has swollen cheek!

Apple cider vinegar is not an antibiotic and will not kill bacteria. It is a good tonic to help prevent disease, but it will not cure disease. Your best bet is an antibiotic. You can order them on line or check with your vet for the proper meds.

Apple cider vinegar is a mild antibiotic and anticeptic due to the high levels of acid actually

Bacterias and virus's flourish in acid environments. Apple cider vinegar is low on the ph scale and is considered an acid. However once the body processes ACV, it helps turns the body alkaline, which can help destroy bacteria's and virus's. This process of raising the ph of the body can take months. It does not happen over night, and may not raise it enough to kill bacteria. In this amount of time, the bird could die. Antibiotics are recommended for respiratory ailments. ACV is a good preventative, it does not kill bacteria on its own.

okay i'll look into the antibiotics asap but will add the vinegar cider anyway
