I take the shot once every 6 months, @Meg-in-MT. The shot itself isn't bad, just sub q. I was on Fosamax at first but didn't tolerate it at all. Very hard on my stomach.

My RA titres are always negative. But I have the symptoms. The lab work isn't conclusive with either RA or gout. They found the OA with a Dexa scan bone density scan and the degree of damage to my spine.

My personality doesn't allow for me to sit around and watch things go by, instead I just nap all day and don't know/ care what is going on. :yesss:
Sounds like me today, DD. 100 thinks to do and I'm being a couch potato, binge watching a series about an air service located in Canada's North West Territory.

I went out to take care of the birds who are quite chipper in spite of being locked in all day. I took them a bucket of hot mash mixed with a cup of crushed corn and a teaspoon of rooster booster.

You'd a thunk they got a free pass to an all you can eat buffet!

@Meg-in-MT have you tried hot and cold treatments? That can be very helpful for swelling, pain and inflammation. I've had a severe tendinitis in the two middle fingers of my left hand. I finally thought maybe the problem was not in the fingers but in the tendon going up my wrist and arm. I decided to try some hydrotherapy, figuring it might not help but it wouldn't hurt. Here's what I did: Soed the hand including the wrist in hot water for about ten minutes in hot water, about as hot as I could stand it. Had ice water ready, and plunged the hand into it afterward for about three minutes. Go back to the hot and repeat. After the ice water, go into the hot and cold again. Then finish with the hot. Finally wrap the wrist and hand with a towel and let it return to normal naturally. I was amazed how much it helped, not only with the pain but with the increased mobility. I'm not a medical professional, i'm just telling you what helped me. The changes in temperature improved circulation, reducing inflammation.

A belated happy Wednesday. Too late for coffee, I'm afraid at least for me.

4 inches of snow here today with the low overnight expected to hit 3. Only 10 degrees tomorrow. I told the chickens to cuddle up tonight and lay aside their grudges.

All those in favor of spring say AYE!
AYE!

No, I haven't tried that, BB. Thank you for the suggestion and information on how you did it. I will definitely give it a try! If I can get away with no medication, I'd be plum happy. I've done similar for enflamed muscles, I just didn't think that would work with this kind of thing.

I'm learning that hydrotherapy can work on a lot of things. I'm determined to learn more about it. Please let me know if it helps at all, and good luck! Chronic pain is no fun! :hugs
