@Sequel it's one of those things that gets better with reheating. I make a whole head and freeze several meals worth. My recipe is very simple:
1 head of red cabbage
2 tblsp butter
1 large onion
2 tblsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1/2 cup water
1 apple - I use 2
Melt butter add and saute sliced onion, add sugar, salt, vinegar, water, grated unpeeled apple/s, shredded cabbage. Cook over low heat for half an hour.
