Morning ya’ll. Coffee on with big old hot buttered biscuits. Went to feed the hens this morning. Predator got my Margaret- cross beak, blind in one eye BCM I raised from day 1. She was nearly 3 yrs old. I think it might have been an owl early this am. I buried her in the side yard near the Hydrangea. RIP sweet Margaret. Will be locking the girls down tight from now on- and watching for aerial predators.

Yall in US, how'd your chicks handle the fireworks? Mine were pitiful.

The hens were fine but the cats did not like it!

Have one pullman loaf done other is in the oven took advantage of our cool moring .. I get my 6 banty 4 being silkie at 3 today had to make another brooder for them as the others are bigger do not want them picked on

@The Tiny Homestead, welcome! I loved your post about all the coffee mistakes you've made.

The one that pisses me off most is in the winter. I warm up the milk in the mug on the woodstove for about 30 minutes. Then it doesn't cool the coffee so quickly. And when I forget to put the coffee in, I just have to put up with cooler coffee. Because I'm not going to wait another half hour.

It's so bad when you go out to the coop and find one of your chickens is gone..
