Glad to hear that all of you had a good Thanksgiving! It was rainy here as well, @BlueBaby ... But it was a wonderful holiday. :D

Yesterday we had 6 inches of snow. Lots of shoveling, but the dogs loved it! These are today pictures, so the lawn snow had melted some. :)

Well, it seem's that you will be having a white Christmas up there! You can keep all of your snow up there though. It wouldn't have lasted down here today anyway's. I was outside today in short's and a t-shirt, and didn't even need a sweater.

We have had soooo much snow already, it started before Halloween. At Thanksgiving time we got one storm that dropped 18-22". And it's snowing again right now.

Today was nice and mild. Temp got up to 47*F,,, and it is still 43*F and almost midnight:thumbsup CST
Weather report says Tuesday the Polar vortex is supposed to bring Daytime highs in the single digits:old
All remains to be seen, since that far in advance ,,,,,,,, things usually change. Our temps should be about 36* for daytime highs at this time of year.
My girls:love( hens) are in their winter housing until spring. Trouble free and relatively warm, and low maintenance. They get fed daily, and fresh water changed, (3 heated containers). Also 12 hours of timer controlled light. Plenty of scratching in the hay, inside loft.(to stay busy and not bored or mischievous:ya)
If you need to find out how much will it snow,,,, anywhere, here is a handy site.

Also helps if you are traveling, and want to know what to expect when you get to destination.

What I don't have is simple outerwear for decent temps like above freezing.:barnie
What I read on another thread, as suggestion,,,,,,, if too warm in clothing,, then keep removing layers until at comfort zone. Also suggested not to go further with actions than below..

On somewhat of a sad note...
Found an expired adult skunk behind the house. Had to bury him,,,, since I like to return all things back to earth. I know it sounds silly, but Caveman gets sad anytime an animal dies. I am the only one in the family that is not afraid of skunks. Everyone else is. I also have NEVER been sprayed by one. They know I mean no harm and can sense that. I of course do not push my luck,,,,, and try to scare them. My closest encounter was, one time when one ran past me and brushed against my leg. Running from inside garage to cat food bowl, that I place outside, in effort to lure him out of garage. I feel that they are all creatures from the Creator.
This is a Pix from 5 years ago,,, so not same skunk,,, but shows how close they come to me without getting scared. I don't walk around with a camera all the time, so don't have every encounter photoed

Haven't see any skunks this year - usually do. They dig up the grubs I think, so I don't mind- they can have all they want. I wonder if the scarcity is because of a resurgence of distemper. That wiped out many of them years ago.

Maybe it's a combination of that and getting run over on the highway's. With more people, there are more car's now.

It does not sound silly at all. Nature, whether it be big or small, is a beautiful thing that we must cherish and respect... Especially if the smaller kin, such as skunks or squirrels, are very badly taken in disregard. Skunks do stink and dig- but are harmless to us.
Thank you, Caveman, for being kind to nature!!
Sorry you had to find the skunk. :hugs
