Coffee's ready...

ugh, don't say furnace...
ours has not worked right since we moved in (we moved in in june and of course didn't realize this until it started getting cold)
i replaced the thermocouple and it worked ok for a while, then the hood on the pilot snapped off so i replaced it and its worked ok for a week, now the pilot won't even stay lit. so i told the landlord about it and he said, "when i lived there it was cheaper to heat it with electricity anyway and if you want the furnace fixed, it's your responsibility to fix it, it says so in your lease." so, i took his word for it, went home, read the lease and realized that it ,of course, is NOT my responsibility (i didn't think so.) tried to keep the house warm with electric heaters and my bill went from $16 to $89 in ONE month. now, i could see maybe a 30 dollar a month spike but $73 in a month? that's not quite in my budget especially since i already filled the propane tank in anticipation of the winter...so i had my lovely girlfriend call the landlord as she is much mor patient about these sorts of things and only gets loud when she has to and usually gets things done. now he realizes he has to fix it and said he'd come look at it but hasn't...i've been heating my house with candles for a week. glad it's a small house.

woke up this morning, my eye glasses broke, my house was cold, i walked out and drove to work without a cup of coffee OR a hat (i don't even go outside to feed the chickens without a hat on.) my boss is gone for the day and didn't give me anything to do but be bored (i would much rather work through a work day than sit around and do nothing, i have other things i could be doing) and this afternoon, i get to go once again to the MVD (dmv in new mexico) to try to get my residency changes, get a drivers license, and register and title my car...)

TGIF!!!

That all sounds pretty rough. The furnace guy showed up early so problem was an easy fix, it was the ignitor like I thought. Hope your day gets better. Maybe a nice massage sounds good!

Good morning, All. It sounds like a pretty rough morning for some. So I'll just add to the troubles. I just back from the doctor's and found out that it was not a recurring bout of pneumonia I thought I had, but H1N1. So for a week, and will be extremely tired for a at least two weeks after the symptoms go away.

Please excuse my sad violin playing. All things remedy themselves eventually.

Hi all. Sorry some are having so many troubles. And Sissy, I was hoping to see some improvement in your DH. I've been thinking of yous. On a slightly better note, my lungs have made a dramatic improvement with new steroids the doctor put me on. I see him again tomorrow and I think I'm going to ask him for a lifetime supply!!

I plan on writing out a special Christmas card for him since I've had to call on him so often for help in the last few months. He also gave me an allergy med that goes to work in just 5 minutes. Unbelievable.

Hope things improve for you all.

Good morning chicken wranglers
I see that some of us need to have serious prayers said for and I will engage in this at this very moment. I will throw in a prayer for the future also as new year is on the way and we all need relief in one way or another. God bless you all!

Karl, you said it all. I will second that. You guys get well and try to stay warm. The weather man said that I am to get a freeze tomorrow night and the next night also.

Has any one tried using a small ceramic heater in the coop? I just got one and need to try it out first. So I will do that now.

Have a good day everyone.

Please everyone vote for Anne.

Good Morning, gloomy here, but the big snow storm appears to be going right to the edge of where I am for Christmas eve. and Christmas day. Yipeee. Downside is rain coming and a lot of it. So getting my hay today and getting it put in the barn and everyone will be fed and cozy. Now, if I could just get the girl Alpacas to stop poopin' in their side of the barn, it WILL be a good winter!!! It's funny when I gripe and growl at them; Venus has BIG eyes and she eyes me up and down like she thinking what a rip I am so early in the morning. Ha. But I keep telling them that they don't have to do that, there is a big ole' pasture out there just waiting for it!!!
