ugh, don't say furnace...
ours has not worked right since we moved in (we moved in in june and of course didn't realize this until it started getting cold)
i replaced the thermocouple and it worked ok for a while, then the hood on the pilot snapped off so i replaced it and its worked ok for a week, now the pilot won't even stay lit. so i told the landlord about it and he said, "when i lived there it was cheaper to heat it with electricity anyway and if you want the furnace fixed, it's your responsibility to fix it, it says so in your lease." so, i took his word for it, went home, read the lease and realized that it ,of course, is NOT my responsibility (i didn't think so.) tried to keep the house warm with electric heaters and my bill went from $16 to $89 in ONE month. now, i could see maybe a 30 dollar a month spike but $73 in a month? that's not quite in my budget especially since i already filled the propane tank in anticipation of the winter...so i had my lovely girlfriend call the landlord as she is much mor patient about these sorts of things and only gets loud when she has to and usually gets things done. now he realizes he has to fix it and said he'd come look at it but hasn't...i've been heating my house with candles for a week. glad it's a small house.
woke up this morning, my eye glasses broke, my house was cold, i walked out and drove to work without a cup of coffee OR a hat (i don't even go outside to feed the chickens without a hat on.) my boss is gone for the day and didn't give me anything to do but be bored (i would much rather work through a work day than sit around and do nothing, i have other things i could be doing) and this afternoon, i get to go once again to the MVD (dmv in new mexico) to try to get my residency changes, get a drivers license, and register and title my car...)
TGIF!!!
