Coffee's ready...

Yep, now the fun begins for you rngrbill. How's the weather your way? Overcast mid forties here, maybe the worst of it is over. The better half is back talking to me ( or at least it's understandable, no more chattering) which could be a good thing or bad thing.............
Enjoy your day

Good morning chicken wranglers,
Wowee lost in Louisville, amid a jungle of boxes. I do not envy you . How I hate moving. Hanging pictures organizing, yuck .
5 years in this house and I'm just now getting around to it ,and it is time to repaint already.
Best of luck to you though.
Pond racing was in, yesterday ,the eight year old, and my grandson "whom is ten by the way" were out on the frozen pond racing 4 wheelers. It really is more like riding because both wheelers are throttled down so that they will only go about 15 mph and the little one can only go in the snow ruts of the bigger one ,but the lads had a great time. -2 today and 8 more inches possible tomorrow. the pond will stay frozen for a few more weeks I'd wager.
Q I will not inquire as to why she ever stopped, "chattering," that is, but sometimes we insensitive "horrid" man animals have no common sense when it comes to the fairer sex . Just keep the frying pans at bay! Except for cooking I mean.
God Bless!

Good morning chicken wranglers,
I am starting the countdown to white winter Armageddon, 8" probable with a possible accumulation of 14 inches, high winds, and sub zero temps for the next few days. Just crawl in a hole or a moose carcass and wait it out . Better go fill the truck ,put some weight in the rear, go home chop wood ,and put on my flannel union jacks. Oh yeh put the grader blade on the tractor before hand also.
God Bless!

Karl, When she warms up she stops chattering. I might be spelling it wrong, like stuttering which she doesn't do, only when she is cold cold. I have been mixing locust in the stove recently, and moved more up to the house. I think if she could have gotten away with it (good reason to have kids, I might be missed....), she would have split me open and crawled inside when we went to bed, she was "cold". 58 deg is good sleeping temp?

Woke up to 6" - 8" of snow this morning. Expecting total accumulation of 12 - 14".

Be safe and enjoy your day

Good morning chicken wranglers,
Q I keep it at 59 in the house in every room except the basement where the fire place is. Propane jumped to $5.00 a gallon from $2.00 because of a supposed shortage so I say put a sweeter on. "Or climb inside a carcass". I was using only the fire place to heat the whole house but that is not the case now. I've a dead locust tree and would like to burn it but I'm afraid the thorns would create a high casualty list at the house, how do you do it?.
We got 6 to 8' of snow last night and sub zero [-10] tonight. I think it is just par for the course now, and I'm not even alarmed by it any longer.
More snow for the the weekend also. I do not think it will melt at any time soon either.
God Bless!

Karl - The majority of locust around here is black locust. Follow by the hybrid honey locust, followed by true honey locust. The true honey locust is the worst tree to have to climb. With their cluster of long thorns. I have had those thorns penetrate red wing climbing boots. As far as jeans, no match for them. At the moment I have black locust, they just have their thorns on the branches. Good stoat leather gloves can handle them, but a awl full brittle tree to climb.

Anyways, we have about 12" of snow if anyone wants some.

Looking out back with the morning coffee.

Enjoy your day

Morning,'
You sure Oes? I really don't mind sharing..............

An updated picture would have paths for the chickens to walk around.

Another cool morning, -8 degs (f), just like in the good ole days. I figure out one of my summer projects, new windows.

Enjoy your day

Morning folks,

I'm new to BYC and have enjoyed reading lots about chickens. Nice to know I'm not the only crazy chicken lady out there. Been way too cold in Colorado. 12 degrees this morning is a regular heat wave.

One of my backyard views:
