Good morning chicken wranglers,
Only 2 eggs yesterday. I feel depressed! What a let down after the day before. Dawgone undependable chickens!
Just like the weather and the guy that predicts it.
Did y'all hear that this is going to be the record setting cold weather winter? I will believe it when I see it. Unfortunately I will have to see it if it happens!
Best start cutting wood and getting all the amenities in place for it is far better to have and not need than to need and not have!

Afternoon. Four eggs for us today. We also had a little visit from a hawk. Luckily, only some feathers were ruffled.

Congrats on your interview sourland.

We lost a hen the other day, now no eggs. I am debating getting chicks and over wintering them so we have eggs in the early summer. I was hoping to stumble on some pullets this year, but I fell out of the loop. Wait till next year, you are going to have more eggs then you'll know what to do with.

I heard the same thing about this winter. I am mixing a lot of locust with the wood, plus I have some set to the side for straight burning. If I run out, there is a lot of standing ash in the area, from field to fire.

Project for this week, replacing bathroom floor, toilet, sink fixture. New floor is in, so it should be done today.

Fair night last night, had a good time.

Not sure where you are but if you're not picky and willing to take them all I can hook you up with some older more feathered chicks. Most are EE or EE/maran crosses and black. Various ages and some will of course be/are roos, but they will be free.
