Coffee's ready...

So one day when I didn't need them I gathered up all my tape measures, about 5 or 6 of them. Oiled the 100' steel tape, from my grandfather, that we use in the garden and put them in a special place where I could find. All were gone about a week later when I needed one. After an hour searching finally found one. After I was done I put it in an illogical place. It stayed there. Till I needed it.

Fall/ winter routines. simple do what the DW tells me.

First F/W down here so not sure what to do! Don't have a wood stove anymore so no wood. Do need to do a lot of leaf tilling into the garden to soften up that clay.

I own 7 tape measures. Right now, I can locate 3 of them (I just found the third a week ago). They always keep disappearing. A friend of mine gave me a great tip. He needs one in his work daily, so he bought a really expensive 20ft tape measure, he said he managed to keep it over a year because he took extra special care of it since it cost so much. He still remembers where he left it, but really does not want to return to that client (he's a plumber, and it was a nasty place).
Of everything I have, tape measures are the only consistently elusive items. I must have at least a dozen, I keep them in various parts of the shop and home so there is always one close at hand, plus one in my truck. They have allocated locations. When I need one, they are very hard to find. Then eventually I'll find a pile of 4 or 5 of them together. I think they get together at night and party, get drunk and fall asleep in one spot.

Tape measures are a bit like pens, they keep disappearing. I think they might be related to socks. I once read a formula which attempted to calculate the half-life of a sock. There were different constants for different types of socks and everything. I don't think the author was very serious about it though...

You may be right. DW and I went to Harbor Freight.

DW got one free with the coupon and a purchase, I got one free with coupon and purchase and I bought a third. How many Tape measures do we have all together?

If you said three you're wrong. The answer is TWO.

We put three in the trunk but when I opened it one was gone.

Somewhere in an alternate universe some old geezer found another Tape measure and has a box full of pens and odd socks.

We have a chain of cheapo stores here, they were handing out free buckets to the first 1000 customers. They ran out of buckets about half way through the queue. And you can buy similar plastic buckets (without the ugly company logo) for one euro. Sometimes I wonder what's wrong with people.

Morning,
Closest Harbor Freight around here is a about a hour away. In a small city south of us, Poughkeepsie. One of the many places I avoid going to, if I can.

Great sleeping weather last night after the last few nights. It makes getting up hard. With the days getting shorter, getting up in the dark now makes it even harder.

3' might not be enough for my tackle box. I'm told that the Blue Cats run 5' - 6' long. 'course I don't know never having ever caught anything over 5" here.

The amount of fish I caught this year, I might just have left the gear home and enjoy the water. I honestly can't remember the last time I had to use it.

Enjoy your day
