Sure is wet and cold here this morning. Yesterday my son and I pressed 14 gallons of cider and had thought we press more today if the rain wasn't too bad. Unfortunately I didn't pick anymore apples yesterday and it is raining to hard this morning.

Speaking of our OP, I posted some pictures of a pair of blue orpington bantams that she gave me. They sure are beautiful birds. https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=119513&p=1391

Morning all. Paperwork on this desk is so high that it's teetering and threatening to fall upon me and squish me. Nose to the grindstone....preparing for the weekend.

You know it felt good. Am I nuts? Have to hold off for an hour or two, to scrub the playhouse/coop, as the outside water will still be cold until later this morning. I think I will make another cup of coffee. The temp dropped to 55. It is cool in the desert.

My dogs are loving it. They are so full of energy. It is good to see them tearing around because it feels good.

Morning all. Boy it sure is dark and rainy here. The only good thing about it is no soccer this morning. Not that I am complaining about soccer, but being on the field at 8:00 in the morning in the rain with a one year old baby is no fun let me tell you!

Got my coop cleaned up yesterday, I knew there was going to be no outside work today, because it is supposed to rain heavily this weekend. Today I am going to try out my new dehydrator, I have never used one before so I am sure it is going to be a lot of trial and error before I get it right. anyone else use one?

I was sitting here drinking my coffee and waiting for daylight to come and show me what kind of day I'm going to have. I guess I could have turned on the weather channel but I think waiting on the sun is more enjoyable. When I read the last post that reminded me that I need to check the apples that I placed in the dehydrators. I've got two which allows me to do a 1/2 bushel at a time. I've been using them for about twenty five years and have found a myriad of things to put in them. I dry apples, pears, bananas, pineapple, mushrooms, peaches, and of course venison jerky. They sure were a handy thing to have.

Good morning

Opa, what do you use to store the stuff you dehydrate? I was wondering if it was worth it to get one of those food saver machines with the plastic bags that seal.
