Good Morning!
I am going to a training all day today. Not all that excited, but at least I got to sleep longer since it doesn't start till 8:30.

Kaj - what does your 'rat' play? BF had a good hike, but it was with a large group and he got sick of the noise after a while. The trail ended up being 12 miles. I don't know if he has ever bush-wacked. Probably at some time he has.

My garden has been torn up by the chickens. They left it alone for the longest time, and all of the sudden one day they ate all the leaves on the broccoli, took dust-baths in the middle, and pulled up some of the onions. I still have a few things going - my pepper and tomato look good, and I have hope that a few carrots and onions will make it.

Morning all:

Marilyn and Jane are happily peeping around their cage, trying little short flights. The big girls, especially Buffy, demanded to be let out to free range. So they're out kicking up the back yard. Today's a busy day:

Get DS to school.
I HAVE to plant the stuff I bought.
Catch up on work I should have been doing last week.
Drive to Lafayette to pick up Audrey.

Time to drive DS to school now. Ciao all!

Today has been long as Dh still is not the best and Danny has not slept much either this last while. Jessy and Dan had a great time playing together today. Danny loves her so much and he really is very gentle. It is so nice to watch.

Anyhow I am about to go to bed and No one is on so am away I guess. I need an early night.

Morning/afternoon people,
Damp morning, good for hot coffee and a warm fire.
Weather: Outside-45 and drizzling, today-mid 50's and rain, inside-65 and clear.

chics in the sun: The oldest rat is a bassoonist. She plays in many local (within 2hr ride) orchestras and quintets. We might be going out on a hike this coming weekend. We haven't decided yet, it's still deer season here.

I started closing the garden down yesterday before the rain moved in. It doesn't look like I'll get to the tilling it one last time. Maybe I'll toss the chickens in it to have their chicken ways with it. I gave them the broccoli plants and that traumatized them for about 10 minutes. I think the little guys were waiting for the big guys to decide what to do.

Off to my fathers today. That's a adventure.

Our little rat has a "boyfriend" that has a 2yr old. Does this mean I get to join the grand parents group here or will I be a grandparent apprentice/wannabe?

My daughter won 2nd place at the school's science fair. SHOCKING because her project was LAME! She spent alot of time doing the actual board because she is convinced that the board counts more than the experiment. She just might be on to something.

My son did not win anything. His project was a better / more complicated experiement.

Quercus - I love the bassoon. My brother is an excellent clarinet/ bassoon/ sax/ any type of wind instrument player.

Math Ace - maybe I will go out on a limb and enter Madelide the lovely Marans in the next show - I think it's in Lakeland - just to see what happens. If she would stop chasing and pecking the babies so Sunshine would stop pecking her in the head, her comb would not be so tattered looking..... it has little black spots on it. She'll even just stop and squat and take her punishment from Sunshine when she knows it's coming!!
