Smooths them out and makes them shiny.

A hint at some of the finds from today. Still have just as many left to crack open. I have one filled completely with dolomite and quartz crystal that isn't great to look at but I think it's neat cause I've never seen one like it.

This stone was pretty cool. The fossil is inside a hole in the rock, the picture makes it look flat. There may be more fossils on it it's hard to tell without some cleaning.

I'm working on a rock garden. All that snow melted away, drained off and took part of our soil with it. Petrified wood is laying out everywhere here.
