Is there a way to get a Ib pied without having an Ib pied

In a way, it's possible. at least one parent needs to carry the pied gene ( if it is only a single pied gene you would never know until it was bred to a white or split to white bird). So a person could buy a bird that was IB split to pied (and possibly not know it) or a dark pied bird (carries to copies pied) and breed it to a white bird and hatch pieds
