Some days are so much more fun than others.
Woke up to the septic backing up into the house. No warning. Checked under the house, dripping over a brooder (luckily not dirty water, the softener had been doing its backflush so the water was clean, thank goodness), quickly moved the chicks into dry digs, floor wet, threw down shavings, also had to move another group of chicks.
Neither of us could remember where the septic tank was so it took quite a bit of digging to find it, uncovered the lids, called a couple places to try and get it pumped out today with no success. One of them did tell me though that I probably had a "tissue blockage" between the inlet pipe and the baffle which we should be able to dislodge ourselves, and luckily he was right. Now that it's uncovered we will go ahead and have it pumped tomorrow or the next day, and will use the gentleman who told us how to clear the blockage.
Wendell I know you will understand when I say it took a pickaxe to loosen the "dirt" enough to uncover the lids. The day is only half over and we are worn out. Hopefully a bit of a rest will rejuvenate me enough to get more done, as there is plenty left to do.
