I still like the look of ornamental pheasants. When I first saw them I was in awe but now I see the goldens and amhersts so much that its like seeing a chicken.

I doubt hunters acctually eat the goldens they shoot, I have read on an asiatic website that the meat of a golden pheasant resembles rotten old leather in taste and texture, after trying it for myself I have to strongly agree with that discription... I love pheasant but I will never again eat a golden.
